002 - INLUSTRIS Core Calligraphy

The Story of Our Calligraphy: 

All of our calligraphy is written by Fuxiao’s uncle, Zhu Peng, in Pingliang, China.  He is a self-taught scholar and lifelong calligrapher who, despite never having gone to college, became the principal of a well regarded school in Gansu, China.  The styles of calligraphy we choose are custom written and carefully selected to symbolize the direct connection between INLUSTRIS and our Chinese cultural roots and family, and is something we showcase with great pride in our products and designs.

For this collection, we want to showcase the interwoven nature of the INLUSTRIS brand identity and our roots in both Eastern and Western cultural traditions. Inlustris is Latin for “Starlight”, which is spelled 星光 in Chinese, and provides the inspiration for this original calligraphy design that embodies our brand DNA of thoughtfully integrating Eastern and Western cultural traditions in our creations.
